Ian Marlee joined Ofgem in August 2008. He is responsible for overseeing the functioning of the gas and electricity markets in Great Britain, both in the short term and over the longer term.
Prior to joining Ofgem, he was Head of Regulation and Contract Services at Network Rail, leading the team with responsibility for managing the company’s approach to the regulatory, contractual and charging regime. Before that, he held various roles within Network Rail in the regulatory, commercial and strategic development teams.
Earlier in his career, Ian worked as an economic consultant and as a research assistant at the London School of Economics.
